The voice acting is especially great, drawing from the talent in the movie. All of this is supported by excellent 2D artwork in keeping with the cutting edge 3D seen in the movie, plus above average sound quality for a hidden object game. Solving the crimes is rewarding and the storyline progresses at a fun pace, always light-hearted and tongue-in-cheek. Each one is based on an animal and changes the game up, for example slowing down time with the Sloth Slowdown. This is mostly seen through the special abilities, which you can unlock as the game progresses. Zootopia does have a few things to add, however, to spice things up. You are presented with 2D scenes and told to spot objects from a list, clicking each one you find. Many hidden object fans will admit that once you’ve played one, you’ve played them all. Zootopia Crime Files: Hidden object is not a terribly original game. Naturally you also get to visit iconic locations from the movie, such as Savanna Central Station. This game has a few extra features to make it more than just clicking objects, such as special abilities, analyzing evidence and a fun original storyline. In Zootopia there is no upsetting murder or gore that you might see in CSI games, for example, so it’s kid-safe. As the game says, you must restore ‘paw and order’ to Zootopia! The crime solving theme is huge in hidden object games, as it lends itself so well to solving real-world puzzles and searching for objects, or rather, clues. Fans of the movie will love seeing all the main characters here, with ZPD officers Judy Hopps and Nicke Wilde solving cases in their furry world. It is based on the children’s movie Zootopia, about a city populated by animals, so as you can imagine the game is very light hearted and friendly. This free game is a great way to kill time for kids and adults alike. One of the latest games to enter the hidden object arena is Zootopia Crime Files: Hidden Object, which hilariously takes the cartoon movie Zootopia and mixes it with the crime solving theme seen in most HOG games. They are simple enough that they can play on almost any device, they offer a challenge without being frantic and they also have that addictive allure of any puzzles.
